February 2012 Dinner Meeting

Join us Tuesday, February 21, 2012 for our joint professional development meeting with our APICS friends. "Quality at First Solar" will be presented by Clarence Hertzfeld, Director of Global Quality at First Solar Inc.
  • Registration at 5:30 pm Dinner at 6:00 pm
  • Location: Mancy's Italian Restaurant, 5453 Monroe St., Toledo OH 43623
  • Dinner Selections (Cash bar will be available)
    • Chicken Marsala, Homemade Lasagna, or Chicken Parmesan
    • Salad, Mixed Vegetables, Roasted Red Skin Potatoes
    • Coffee, Tea, Dessert
  • Cost: $25 for professional members, $10 for students
    • Unemployed professional members attend for free (Max. 3)
  • Registration cut-off February 14, at 5:00 pm
Clarence Hertzfeld is the Director of Global Quality for First Solar. Clarence is a graduate of University of Cincinnati, with a BS degree in Material Engineering. He has 19 years’ experience in Quality positions, each increasing in responsibility and management scope. Before joining First Solar, he held key roles as Lab Technician, Plant Metallurgist, Lab Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Global Customer Quality Engineer and Global Quality Manager with Dana Corp, a leading manufacturer of axles and drive shafts for automotive applications. At First Solar, after five years of service in the Quality and Reliability organization, Clarence was recently appointed as the Director of Global Quality. He is responsible for Supplier Quality Development, Module Manufacturing Quality, and the Power Plant Construction Quality activities.

The Toledo Section has been awarded the Bronze Excellence Award in ASQ's Quality Management Process for 2010-2011. Only 99 out of 251 sections received awards this year.
