Establishment of the Toulouse Award

A Toulouse Award Committee meeting was held the evening of September 28, 1959. The following past presidents of the Toledo Section, ASQC, were in attendance: William W. Pound, Fred Reardon, John Reason, Hilton Fettig, David Hettel, Keith Lewis.

The following action was taken at the meeting:

1.      The establishment of the aim or purpose of the award: “To honor, in the name of Julian H. Toulouse, that member of the Toledo Section, ASQC, having qualified under the rules for highest attainment during the current year.”

2.      It was established that the committee of past awardees would have the decision whether or not to make the award (in a given year) depending on qualified candidates available.

3.      It was agreed that the award would be on parchment of approximately 8 ½” x 11” suitably engraved and framed.

4.      It was agreed that the award is to be presented by the outgoing president at the Spring Social or, in absence of such, the last meeting of the year.
