Also Toledo ASQ members can upload to the Library. If you have a publication or research paper that would be of interest to the community you can now submit it here. Click the upload button and attach the article and fill in the other details. If accepted the article will be made available for download from the site. Acceptance of any publications is entirely at the discretion of Toledo ASQ. Full credit will be given to the author.

In general, research findings, how-to guides etc will be allowed on the site. Commercial presentations will not be acceptable.

Corporate Culture

Introduction:

6-Sigma is a process of statistical thinking used to reduce variation (1) but notable exceptions like Toyota do not use it and yet still have good reputations (2). If not Toyota, why should anyone use 6-Sigma? If 6-Sigma is a process of statistical thinking then the answer is in the nearly 60 year Toyota culture of lean. Lean demands variation reduction and variation reduction has statistical thinking at its root, so, they are similar and it is a matter of culture.
